It makes "invisible work" visible: the help, waiting, coordination, repeated questions, onboarding and out-of-role tasks that keep a service running but never show up in normal reports or client invoices. Employees describe a situation in their own words in about 30 seconds. Shadowy's AI turns it into a structured draft that the employee reviews and approves. Two principles are core to the product: 1. It is not surveillance. Shadowy does not track screens or keystrokes and does not follow people. The employee decides what to submit, and the AI only drafts - nothing is saved without the employee's approval. 2. It does not rank people. Any per-person metric is shown to support the person and balance the workload, never to score, compare or create leaderboards. The goal is to understand where processes slow the team down, not to judge individuals. Access is scoped by role: managers see only their own team's approved entries, administrators see only their own organisation's data. --- ## HOW IT WORKS 1. The employee describes what took extra time, in their own words (text or voice), in about 30 seconds. 2. The AI creates a structured draft with a category and time. 3. The employee reviews and approves it - nothing is stored without approval. 4. The manager gets an overview: workload, recurring processes, time per client and estimated cost, plus concrete process suggestions. Publicly shared pilot results: - First pilot week: 10 employees, 62 entries, 53 hours of logged invisible work, around 1066 EUR of estimated hidden cost. - One month: 293 situations, 207 hours of invisible work, around 4066 EUR of estimated value. Over the longer pilot the data also showed what no earlier report did: one person logged 113 hours of help to colleagues (a large share of all help in the team), dozens of processes repeated often enough to be worth fixing once rather than enduring weekly, and the five largest clients took about 30% of all team time.
